FRIDAY: The graphic organizer on the different characteristics of vertebrates will be completed and turned in on Friday. The pages in the textbook for reference is p. 374-394. We will be working on this in class. If not completed in class, the student is responsible for completing for homework.
EXTRA POINTS PROJECT:
This is for any student that want to bring up his/her grade. It will count as a test grade (40)%. If you did not complete the digestive system project, you need to do this one. It is not required for all students.
Research information on an endangered species of Alabama. It can be a fish, amphibian, reptile, or bird. Include in your 2 to 3 page report, its habitat, niche, and range. Include why it is endangered, and what is being done to protect the species. Include a picture. It is not necessary to make a poster. This project is due no later than MONDAY 5/24th.

WEEKKLY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS
1. How does sleep affect the brain? Write a ½ to 1 page report.
2. Research about what a polygraph test is and how does it work. Write ½ to 1 page report.
3. How do tricks and illusions fool your senses? Write 1/2 to 1 page report.
4. What are the immediate and long term effects of drug abuse. You will find information on p. 655 of your textbook, figure 20. Write ½ to 1 page report
5. Research some commonly abused drugs and tell how they effect the body. ( methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, cocaine) ½ to 1 page report
6. How do anabolic steroids affect the body? These are the steroids abused by athletes. Write ½ to 1 page report
7. Complete a scientific drawing of the spinal cord on white paper. Color and label neatly. look on p.636 in your textbook,
fig. 7.
